Next week we will be in 2020. How crazy is that? I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was good. I got stuck doing the cooking again! But there was no arguing so a success! It's always so strange that gap between Christmas and New Years because I feel like there's all this stuff I want to do before the year is up and yet just chilling out has been the best. This break has been so overdue and I am really loving just moving at this glacier speed. I told myself I would have finished my new book by the end of the year...yeah I love how ambitious I am! I haven't worked on it since I've had my break. I just clocked this morning that my third book is out in just over 9 months. Why that gives me anxiety I have no idea! I did it guys. I spoke to 200 kids at The Stoke Newington Literary Festival!!! My first lit fest. I was so nervous. I honestly felt like I couldn't do it and then Kate was talking about a mic and a stage and I was like what??!! But it was in their assembly hall and then I realised they're kids! I am with kids every single day. This is nothing and do you know what? I had so much fun that I wished I could have done it again. The kids were so imaginative and engaged and even knew about Dragon Ball Z (can you believe it?) and it was so cool seeing them buy copies of my book. I tried to go a group selfie, which was an epic fail because the camera didn't take the pic and all the kids just rushed forward, so in the end I did a video shot but then we found out the parents hadn't signed permission for it to be posted! This has been a good 2013 so far for my book!!! I got my first royalty cheque, which was very exciting. Had no clue that because it's in dollars had to fill out this long form at the bank to cash it in. On the plus side, the guy at the bank who helped me is a big fantasy fan so he's gonna go buy my book. Result! I had an interview with Female First magazine http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/books/emily-knight-i-am-279749.html  which was very fun. I got some very good reviews 4 and 5 Stars! Get in there! So hopefully that will encourage more people to buy! buy! buy! AND the reviewers have been running a give away of the book AND I got more Twitter followers. My mission to get a 1000 likes minimum every month is working, reached 6000 likes this month so by March should get to 7000 at least. So around June, I should be on 10,000 likes minimum.
